About Darrion

   Darrion Kirnes is an aspiring multimedia journalist from Plant City, Florida the strawberry capital of the world. Mr. Kirnes was born in Leesburg, Florida by parents Demarion and Louise.

 

   At the age of ten he discovered his love for team sports when he started playing football and basketball. As a young man he dreamed of becoming a professional athlete in either sport. After falling short of that goal in high school, he decided to turn his passion for sports and news into a journalism career.

 

   Darrion loves the creative element of putting things together, it gives him great satisfaction to know he is the reason things are running smoothly. In the fall of 2014 he put these skills to use as a video editor intern for Gamerfitnation.com. Kirnes also furthered his skills as an editor/ journalist by accepting a position as the sports editor for the award-winning FAMUAN. He enjoyed watching his writers improve under his direct tutelage. Although Mr. Kirnes has a passion for sports he does not limit himself to just sports, he has built a resume that reflects diversity to be able to accept any position.

 

   Like most people Mr. Kirnes has experienced adversity, during his junior year of college Kirnes became a father to his daughter named Aaliyah with now Fiance, Alexis Mills. Kirnes never lets adversity affect his performance or mood. To ensure that this never happens, he lives by a poem called Invictus by William Ernest Henley and a popular quote by Winston Churchill that states "if you're going through hell, keep going. "
